UCL Main Campus (Bloomsbury, WC1E)
Located in the heart of central London. You're within walking distance of the British Museum, Russell Square, and some of the best transport connections in the city.
Students who prioritise a short commute tend to look at Bloomsbury and King's Cross for their uni accommodation. Anything within a 20-minute walk or one tube stop from Campus is ideal!
UCL East (Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, E20)
UCL's newer campus. It's home to eight faculties and more than 50 postgraduate and undergraduate programmes spanning areas like robotics, architecture, media, and advanced engineering.
It opened fully in 2022 and is based around Stratford — a well-connected part of East London with fast links to Central London via the Elizabeth line, Overground, and DLR.
Stratford, Mile End, and Canada Water are all an easy commute with great transport links (via the DLR, overground and Jubilee line) to UCL East Campus.
UCL also runs a free shuttle bus service between Stratford station and the One Pool Street campus, running every few minutes during peak hours for students with a valid UCL ID. Keep an eye on the shuttle service website for realtime service updates and schedules.

How is Scape different to other accommodation providers?
When choosing your University College London student accommodation for the Gower Street main campus or the school of Management, you have a few different accommodation options, depending on what year you are in. If you are going into your first year of university, typically your choice is between university halls and a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), such as Scape. University halls are a great option for many for students housing, but they tend to be quite basic in terms of facilities and it can be very difficult to get an en-suite room, which could mean sharing a bathroom with up to six people. At Scape, on the other hand, all our rooms are en-suite as standard, our shared spaces are premium and newly refurbished, and you have access to excellent facilities such as an on-site gym and cinema room. When compared to other PBSAs, we have the most central and convenient locations, our shared spaces and facilities are of a higher spec, and we have fully trained Scape staff on-site 24/7.
In your second or third year, you’ll most likely no longer have the option of living in UCL halls. At that point, many students consider moving into private residences such as a flat or house share with friends. While this can be a social option, it often comes without the comfort of an en-suite room, and the quality of accommodation can vary. Bills and utilities usually aren’t included, and you won’t have access to on-site staff support.
Alternatively, you can apply to live with Scape and continue to enjoy all the benefits of our fully furnished residences, with all utilities included and regular staff support. Our application process is simple, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
At Scape, you can continue living with friends in one of our spacious shared apartments – but with all the perks: your rent covers all utilities, you’ll enjoy regular cleaning of communal spaces, and our friendly team is always on hand to help.
Can you stay at Scape in your second or third year?
Absolutely! Whether you’re staying with us in your first year and would like to book again for your second year, or you’re new to Scape and exploring options for your second, third, or even postgraduate year, you’re most welcome here. Our community is incredibly diverse and inclusive, and we have something to offer everyone, no matter where you are in your higher education journey.
With limited availability at each residence, we recommend booking early to secure your preferred room type and location.

Does Scape include bills in the rent?
Yes. All utilities — electricity, water, and high-speed Wi-Fi — are included in the weekly rent at Scape. Gym access and communal facilities are also included.
Which student accommodation providers near UCL offer all-inclusive pricing with premium amenities?
For students who want all-inclusive pricing and well-designed spaces with good facilities, the shortlist near UCL is fairly short.
Scape offers all-inclusive pricing across all buildings, with amenities included in the rent — gym, Wi-Fi, communal spaces. This ensures you're not paying a headline rent and then finding out gym access is extra.
When comparing accommodation options, check:
Is the gym membership included or additional?
Is Wi-Fi included and genuinely fast?
Are there study spaces in the building?
What's the 24/7 support situation?
Are there hidden fees (admin fees, cleaning deposits)?
At Scape, all of the above are included. There's no guarantor required, and the booking process is online and straightforward.
Do I need a guarantor to book at Scape?
No. Scape doesn't require a guarantor, which is useful for international students or those without a UK-based guarantor.
Can postgraduate students stay at Scape?
Yes. Scape welcomes postgraduate and PhD students and offers flexible contract lengths to suit different study schedules.
What student housing providers near UCL offer the best value for long-term postgraduate stays?
Postgraduate students have slightly different priorities to undergraduates. You're likely spending longer in your room working. And you may be here for more than one year. You want somewhere quiet enough to concentrate, social enough to feel connected, and stable enough that you're not stressed about admin.
A few things make Scape well-suited to postgraduates:
Flexible contract lengths: You're not locked into a 51-week contract if you don't need one. Scape offers shorter stays in some locations, which can work around your research terms or teaching schedules.
Study spaces: Every Scape building has dedicated study areas — useful when your room isn't giving you the right headspace, or when you need to get out of the library.
Private rooms: You get your own en suite or studio. No sharing bathrooms, no compromise on privacy when you need to focus.
Stability of an all-inclusive rent: For postgraduates managing a tighter budget, knowing exactly what you're paying every week — with no surprise bills — makes financial planning a lot easier.
Community without pressure: The events programme is there if you want it. Nobody's going to make you play icebreaker games if you'd rather be writing your thesis.
UCL East's postgraduate programmes in particular — robotics, architecture, media arts — attract researchers who often want to be near the campus but connected to the wider city. Scape Mile End and Scape Canada Water both fit that brief.
What room types does Scape offer near UCL?
