Why should I choose Scape over halls?
There are lots of reasons to choose Scape over university halls. Be part of a thriving student community. We host regular events, from grab and go breakfasts, to beer & wing evenings, karaoke nights, yoga classes and swap shops. Our packed events calendar is ready for you to dive in.
Your room is ready to go the moment you move in. There is no need to sort out your own energy, gas, and Wi-Fi suppliers. Everything’s already set up and ready so you can get settled in straight away. Every room comes with a private en suite and lots of clever storage. Never share a bathroom again or fighting over kitchen cupboards with your flatmates. Every detail in your room to communal spaces has been purposefully considered by award-winning designers.
Scape staff are onsite 24/7 – we’re always here to offer a helping hand. We offer great security with staff being present every hour and building access is through secure key fobs. To simplify your living experience, we also have a handy app to ease parcel collection and reporting maintenance issues.
How is Scape different to other accommodation providers?
When choosing your Central London student accommodation you have a few different options, depending on what year you are in. If you are going into your first year of university, typically your choice is between university halls and a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), such as Scape. University halls are a great option for many, but they tend to be quite basic in terms of facilities and it can be very difficult to get an en-suite room – which could mean sharing a bathroom with up to six people. At Scape, on the other hand, all our rooms are en-suite as standard, our shared spaces are premium and newly refurbished, and you have access to excellent facilities such as an on-site gym and cinema room. When compared to other PBSAs, we have the most central and convenient locations, our shared spaces and facilities are of a higher spec, and we have fully trained Scape staff on-site 24/7.
In second or third year you will most likely no longer have the option of living in university halls, but you do have the option to move into private accommodation such as a flat or house share with friends. With this option there is no guarantee of an en-suite room, typically private accommodation rented to students is not of the highest quality, your bills won’t be included, and you have no staff support. You could instead choose to live in one of our large apartments with friends and continue to enjoy all the benefits that Scape offers, including not having to worry about bills and getting your communal areas cleaned on a regular basis.
How do I decide which Scape building is right for me?
That really comes down to which area you would like to live in and how close you want to be to your university campus. All our residencies include the same benefits: en-suite rooms, a range of room types to choose from (including a studio), thoughtfully designed spaces with students in mind, modern communal spaces. Plus, excellent amenities including study zones, gym, cinema room, laundry, secure bike storage, regular socials and events.
We recommend booking a tour to come and experience the space for yourself and discover your next student home. If you’re based overseas, we do also have video tours available. You can book via the website or for more information, email bookings.uk@scape.com
